Day 1: Bay of Islands Day Tour and Hole in the Rock Dolphin Cruise
Departs 7:30am, returns 8:10pm
Sit back and soak up New Zealand’s spectacular scenery as you head north from Auckland to the Bay of Islands for a half-day dolphin cruise. After arriving in Paihia, join the crew aboard our purpose-built catamaran Dolphin Seeker for a three-hour cruise through sheltered clear waters. Throughout your cruise your skipper will keep an eye out for dolphins and other marine life, and where possible get up close to these playful creatures.
Enjoy the views as you cruise out past gem-like islands and the Cape Brett Lighthouse to the majestic Hole in the Rock. If conditions permit, your skipper will navigate right through the hole. At the end of the cruise, rejoin your driver for the return journey to Auckland.
Day 2: Waitomo Caves and Rotorua Experience
Departs 7:30am, returns 8:10pm
Experience magical glowworms and world-famous limestone formations at Waitomo Caves, as well as the rich cultural heritage and geothermal bounty of Rotorua.
Travel south through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions, enjoying entertaining commentary from your driver guide. On arrival in the small town of Waitomo, take a guided tour through the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Over 45 minutes you’ll see amazing stalactites, stalagmites, huge caverns and other limestone rock formations, formed over 30 million years ago. Your tour finishes with a magical boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto – a cavern illuminated by the twinkling lights of thousands of tiny glowworms.
Leaving Waitomo, enjoy a picnic-style lunch (vegetarian and other dietary options available on request) en route to Rotorua, where at the Agrodome you’ll tour an organic working farm on an all-terrain vehicle, see sheep being shorn and view a live sheep dog trial.
Next we make our way to Te Puia, one of New Zealand’s foremost cultural venues. Experience a traditional Māori welcome and cultural performance at the marae (meeting house), before entering the weird and wonderful landscape of the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley for a guided tour of its bubbling mud pools and powerful geysers. The tour also includes a visit to Te Puia’s woodcarving and weaving schools, where apprentices are trained in traditional skills. A delicious afternoon snack, including traditional Māori rewana bread, can be enjoyed as your coach returns to Auckland.

Day 1: Milford Sound Day Tour from Queenstown
Embark on a breathtakingly scenic journey to Milford Sound and experience the world-famous fiord in all its glory with a cruise on its pristine waters. Leaving Queenstown, travel past tranquil Te Anau, along the Eglinton Valley and through the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km underpass drilled through solid rock. Experience The Chasm, a short but impressive walk over footbridges spanning powerful waterfalls and rapids.
At Milford Sound, board a luxury three-level cruise catamaran for your 1 hour 45 minute scenic cruise. Explore the length of the fiord, seeing glacier-scarred rock walls, lush native forest and waterfalls tumbling down from high above. The dramatic profile of Mitre Peak, rising out of the fiord to a height of 1,692 metres above sea level, is another highlight. Whether you’re outside on the large viewing decks or enjoying the comfortable booth seating inside, you’re guaranteed spectacular views thanks to the unique glass roofs and live footage screens on board. Day 2: Mount Cook Day Tour: Queenstown return
On day two, take a day trip from Queenstown to Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, home to New Zealand’s highest mountain. Travel north, through the historic gold mining region of the rugged Kawarau River Gorge and past Cromwell, crossing the Lindis Pass and arriving at Omarama for morning tea (own expense).
We continue through the rugged high country landscape of the Mackenzie Basin to Mount Cook Village, where you can gaze up at the 3,754 metre-high mountain Aoraki / Mount Cook, an important landmark in Māori mythology. Enjoy the views from the iconic Hermitage Hotel over a delicious lunch (optional extra). There is also the chance to take off on a scenic flight over snow-capped mountains and ancient glaciers (additional cost, weather permitting – this can be arranged with your driver/guide on the day). Following our lunch stop, we depart Mount Cook Village and retrace our journey to Queenstown, arriving in the early evening.

Day 1 – Bay of Islands Day Tour and Hole in the Rock Dolphin Cruise

Travel to Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands for a half-day cruise around its waters. Explore this region with its 144 picturesque islands, sheltered waters and abundant marine life. As you journey north from Auckland you’ll pass through native bush and lush farmland, taking in commentary from your driver guide along the way.
After a stroll around the town, board your Bay of Islands cruise on the catamaran Dolphin Seeker and head out to sea. Keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, seals and birds as you travel around the islands and out along the Cape Brett Peninsula to the Hole in the Rock on Motukōkako Island. If conditions are right, your skipper will take the boat through the hole! You’ll have great views from the large outdoor viewing decks on board so you won’t miss a thing during your cruise. After returning to shore, it’s time to head back to Auckland, arriving in the evening.
Day 2 – Hobbiton Movie Set and Waitomo Caves

Take a full-day tour of the Central North Island, visiting the magical Hobbiton Movie Set and Waitomo Glowworm Caves for guided tours of these must-see attractions.
Board your coach in Auckland and travel south to the small town of Matamata. Just outside the town is a 1,250 acre farm, spotted by Sir Peter Jackson and his team and handpicked to be transformed into a filming location for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. On your guided tour you can walk through the village of Hobbiton that was carefully built and decorated for the films. Your guide will show you Hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn, the Mill and other set items, and might even spill some secrets about how the movie magic was made.
At the end of your tour, feast on a delicious lunch at the Green Dragon Inn before boarding your coach and crossing through the countryside into the King Country region, to the township of Waitomo. Since the late 1800s visitors have flocked to the Waitomo Caves, a network of underground caverns and tunnels carved out of limestone by flowing water.
During your 45-minute Waitomo Caves tour you will see stalactites, stalagmites, columns and pillars and visit the amazing Cathedral cave, before taking a short underground boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto to see the glowworms twinkling overhead in the darkness.
At the end of your Waitomo Caves tour, return to Auckland, arriving in the early evening.

Travel into the King Country in the heart of the North Island for a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Over 45 minutes you’ll explore underground caverns and see amazing limestone stalactites and stalagmites, all formed millions of years ago. Travel by boat beneath a canopy of twinkling lights in the Glowworm Grotto for a magical end to your visit.
Enjoy a picnic-style lunch (vegetarian and other dietary options available on request) as we make our way to Rotorua. Here you can experience rural New Zealand with a visit to the Agrodome, where you can tour a working farm on an all-terrain vehicle, see sheep-shearing and a sheep dog trial in action.
At Te Puia, one of New Zealand’s foremost cultural venues, see and hear traditional song and dance at a Māori cultural performance. See how master artists are passing on their traditional skills to future generations at Te Puia’s woodcarving and weaving schools, then take a guided tour of the bubbling mudpools and active geysers in the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. This geothermal area is home to the famous Pohutu geyser, which unleashes vapour jets up to 30 metres high. Spend a morning discovering some of Auckland’s most scenic highlights, from city streets to harbour vistas. Travel through the city centre, along eclectic Karangahape Road and fashionable Ponsonby to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, for fantastic views of the Hauraki Gulf and urban skyline. Pass through the Viaduct Harbour and visit bustling Queen Street on your way to the Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park. After visiting the Domain with its expansive green spaces, formal gardens and native bush, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a short morning tea stop (own expense). This chic shopping destination features restored historic buildings full of boutique, craft and specialty stores.
Next, take a ride along Tamaki Drive on the waterfront to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, a fantastic outlook and the perfect place to capture views of the city and its harbour. The tour will then take you back along the waterfront before returning to downtown Auckland.
Day 2 – Bay of Islands Dolphin Cruise

After arriving in Paihia, you’ll board the Dolphin Seeker, our purpose built catamaran licensed by the Department of Conservation for dolphin and whale viewing. Enjoy the large outdoor viewing decks as we cruise past the islands of the Bay. Keep a look out for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life as our experienced local skippers get you up close to the action.
Cruise past the Cape Brett Lighthouse, before arriving at the majestic Hole in the Rock. If conditions permit, your skipper will navigate right through the narrow space before heading back into the inner islands of the Bay. Once back in Paihia you’ll board the return coach to Auckland.
